Spring Break
What do they say...teachers work for June, July, August and breaks? Well, I think it's true. I had conferences last Wednesday and Thursday until 8 pm. I walked in the door on Thursday night and heard "Happy Spring Break!" Chad and the girls were waiting for me. I am so happy to be home for 10 days with them and Chad is taking a few days off too so we can spend some time together. We don't have much planned but hope to spend some time outside and just relaxing. That's one thing Chad has helped me with. I don't have to have the whole week planned out before it starts. I'll post some pictures of our adventures later in the week.

Kids Fest
We went to KidsFest on Friday night. Emily slept through some of it, as you can see, but Abby loved the games, seeing Bob and Larry (Veggie Tales) and Dora, and getting free treats. It was our first time to an event like that and even though some of the things were too old for her, it was still a fun, family Friday night.
We miss you Papa Lew and Grandma Connee
We are hoping that papa and grandma can check this while they are at Donna and Paul's this week. We are sure they have been enjoying the warm weather of Nevada and Arizona, but we miss them! Here's a message from Abby and Emily says thank you for the new stroller! She LOVES it!

Big sister update
I can't post an update about Emily and leave Abby out so here are some pictures of Abby. She has been very patient having to be inside all the time. Almost daily she asks me if she can ride her bike when we come home. I keep saying hopefully soon! She has done really well at our new day care setting. When I got there one day last week they were wearing kitchen towels with chip clips and were super heros. She tells me Bryce, Grant and Cole are "sunny" but she really means funny and just can't say her F's very well.
6 months
Emily was six months old last week. Wow...where had the time gone? She is really becoming interactive and her personality is starting to show. She is pretty content and is an excellent sleeper. Her sister still gets the biggest smiles and cutest giggles out of her. I think it's going to be so much fun for them to grow up together.
I took her to her check-up yesterday and am happy to report she's growing and doing well. She is 15 lbs and 26 inches long. She can move up to #2 foods. She had mashed potatoes last night from my plate and thought those were pretty good. She rolls over but is still lacking balance to sit up on her own. When the doctor pulled her up from laying down, she wanted to stand right up instead of go to a seated position first. I think I'm going to get quite the workout this summer chasing 2 little girls around!

Christmas 2008
We had a great Christmas together and enjoyed spending time with family! Here are a few of our photos.
Snow Angel
Emily's 1st Christmas left her exhausted
Our little Rock Star!
Connor, my nephew, preferred the boxes and the bows to what was inside them.

New photos
Abby loves to play outside in the snow. She was very excited to help papa clear off the deck at the lake.
She also loves to read. I just can't get over how grown up she is looking and getting. Not only does she enjoy being read to, but she also enjoys reading to Emily.
Emily is really interacting and smiling at us now.
Yet another Doubleday girl who is taken with her daddy! They have him wrapped around their fingers. I have such a great relationship with my dad, that it makes me so happy to see the same type of bonds forming with Chad and the girls. He's already commented that he's not going to be ready to be replaced by some other man some day.
