New photos

Abby loves to play outside in the snow. She was very excited to help papa clear off the deck at the lake.

She also loves to read. I just can't get over how grown up she is looking and getting. Not only does she enjoy being read to, but she also enjoys reading to Emily.
Emily is really interacting and smiling at us now.

Yet another Doubleday girl who is taken with her daddy! They have him wrapped around their fingers. I have such a great relationship with my dad, that it makes me so happy to see the same type of bonds forming with Chad and the girls. He's already commented that he's not going to be ready to be replaced by some other man some day.

Mary Did You Know

For some reason I keep thinking about Mary this Christmas season. As I sit and hold a sleeping Emily in my arms, I can't help but think of what Mary must have been feeling some 2000 years ago. Yes, Jesus is the son of God and yes, He came to save us from our sins, but He was still her little baby. He cried, He ate, and He probably feel asleep in her arms. What an amazing gift Mary was given and what a great sacrifice she made. I love the song Mary Did You Know and it is really hitting home this year.

Snow day

We have a snow day today so I get an extended Christmas break. We have some cookie making and painting on the agenda so far. The new, white snow is beautiful and looks like it's going to still be here for a white Christmas!
